WELL-BEING
With a long legacy of scientific research and innovation, Milliken has always had a strong commitment to solving real human problems and ‘doing good’. This enables us to engineer products and craft solutions that not only last longer and perform better but that also improve the health, wellbeing and performance of people.
Standards such as LEED are directed mainly at buildings, whereas wellness initiatives such as the Well Building Standard are an investment in people. Well moves the emphasis away from physical structures and directs it toward the people inside. After all we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors.
One of the primary drivers of green/healthy interior design is the opportunity to directly impact the productivity of occupants. While operational savings, such as reduced energy and water bills are substantial achievements....few investments generate greater returns than those designed to boost employee productivity.
Happiness - The Catalyst for Good Design
Flooring manufacturer Milliken and The Happiness Index, an organisation that analyses the cultural health of organisations, have collaborated on a report to establish whether good design in a workplace can make people happy and if so, how? The report is based on qualitative and quantitive data from architects and designers’ responses, underpinned by content from an expert industry panel.

The Future Is Well Panel Debate - CDW 2018
As a founder member of the WELL Living Lab, Milliken has developed a deep knowledge and a long-standing commitment to understanding how floor coverings can impact people’s health and wellbeing in the built environment.
Our RIBA approved CPD Presentation has been created to help our customers develop their knowledge on the recently updated WELL Building Standard (Version 2) and how specification of floor coverings can make a positive contribution to their WELL Building Certification.
